Yersinia enterocolitis
This is infectious enteritis caused by Yersinia enterocolitica, and shows symptoms similar to appendicitis.25mm sized round or subround radiolucent shadows which have Barium deposits in center are frequently seen. In cases of Yersinia enteritis, its characteristics are as follows (1)small protuberances are mostly accompanied with recesses in the center,(2)small multiple protuberances are limited to the right-sided colon,(3)usually, tylosis and constriction of the walls of the terminal ileum or ulceration, enlargement of the ileocecal valve, and enlargement of mesenteric lymph nodes are accompanied. Endoscopically small protuberances with flares are frequently seen in the right-sided colon which includes the appendix, ascending colon, and transverse colon.
