Blue Rubber Bleb Nevus syndrome
"<Description of Blue Rubber Bleb Nevus Syndrome>

This is a rare disorder and in 1958, Bean coined the term for the cases of cutaneous hemangiomas, which has the feel of a rubber nipple, with alimentary tract hemangiomas. It is also called ""Bean syndrome"".
It has been reported that this is hereditary, but most cases are sporadic. Major symptoms are cutaneous manifestations, and iron-deficiency anemia or positive fecal occult blood test caused by alimentary tract hemangiomas.
Alimentary tract hemangiomas may occur throughout the gastrointestinal tract, but 50% of the cases occur in the large bowel,46.5% of them occur in the gastrointestine,37.9%of them occur in the small intestine, and 36.2% of them occur in the oral cavity. There are many cases which are associated with multiple gastrointestinal tracts. Also, it has been reported that the incidence of hemangiomas occurred in the organs except for the skin and the gastrointestinal tract is 60.4%.(Kazunori Yoshikawa et al, Official Journal of the Japan Gastroenterological Endoscopy Society 46:2272-2278、2004)
