Colitis patogénica
Escherichia coli associated colitis:
However most of Escherichia coli is one of indigenous bacteria in the intestinal tract of humans or animals, even this may produce opportunistic infections such as urinary-tract infection sepsis, or meningitis, this is nonpathogenic in the intestinal tract. However, certain bacteria infect the intestinal tracts, and cause symptoms which include diarrhea, and they are given a generic name of Pathogenic Escherichia coli. As Pathogenic Escherichia coli, it is known that there are 4 types at this time.
That is to say, 1.(enteropathogenic E. coli, EPEC),2.(enteroinvasive E. coli, EIEC),3.(enterotoxigenic E. coli,ETEC),4.(enterohemorrhagic E. coli, EHEC)each bacterium is as above. In this disease case the stool culture undertaken at hospitalization, was O28ac:H- positive, and was diagnosed with enteritis by enteroinvasive E. coli(EIEC enteritis).EIEC is, a group of Escherichia coli which can infiltrate the large intestinal mucosal epithelial cells /have an ability of proliferation, and is similar to shigellosis in pathogenicity, and as main symptoms of diarrhea, fever, stomachache, vomiting and others it develops, also bloody diarrhea can be recognized. Bacteria infiltrate the mucosal epithelial cell/proliferate, as a result topical inflammation and dysenteric lesions such as ulceration are thought to occur, and infectious images in the small intestine have not been recognized. In an abdominal ultrasound, findings which included tylosis of the intestinal wall/enlargement of lymph nodes /excessive amounts of ascites were recognized, and they were useful for a differential diagnosis. Particularly enlargement of lymph nodes was not recognized in schemic enteritis, and findings strongly suggested infectious enteritis. In the cases in which thumb printing is recognized in the ascending colon, and X-ray/endoscopic features are similar to ischemic colitis, it is thought to be useful for a differential diagnosis to take abdominal ultrasound positively to search for the presence or absence of enlargement of the lymph nodes around the ileocecum.
