Stain May-Grünwald Giemsa (MG)
Microscopic findings Intracytoplasmic lumina (ICL; →) are a finding that strongly suggests an adenocarcinoma origin. It is somewhat difficult to see in the may-grunwald giemsa staining, but it has a linear outline, and like the degenerated vacuoles for containing mucoid substances in the cytoplasm, it is not clear and white. Moreover, among either the cell population having the ICL or the surrounding cell populations, many involve linear and cord-like sequences of cells (▲). These are differentiated from Burkitt’s lymphoma based on findings such as the cubic and slightly angular cytoplasm and the eccentric nuclei.
