In the primary lesion, there are enhanced regions of ductal carcinoma, and these are the parts with interstitial infiltration from such regions. In addition to the solid cancer alveoli in the center area, there are invasive alveoli (→) taking on a cord-like or filamentous sequence within the interstitium. These cells that infiltrate the interstitium receive stress from the sides, have vertically aligned nuclei, and take on a mutually exclusive appearance, and therefore conform to the cells in the myelogram.Such pathognomonic cell images in an adult woman are strong indicators of breast cancer metastasis in the bone marrow.
